Who we are.

Founded in Wichita, KS in the summer of 2009, we're a group engaged in creative distribution of the arts. We are responsible for an independent, community funded print publication called Fractions Journal. The journal features visual artists, writers, musicians, film makers, craftspeople, culinary artists, and all those involved in creative pursuits.

It presents work from individuals, local to international, amateur to professional. Whether your passion is painting, designing clothes, typography, or assembling 1:64 scale models of yourself - we want to share it. It provides a chance to get others interested in the things that intrigue you. It's a publication aimed at engaging the senses and providing access to the work happening in the community and beyond.

// Andrew Bales is working toward his MFA in creative writing at WSU. He spends his free time reading short stories, writing his own, and seeking out eccentric bands to admire. His honorary titles include, but are not limited to: proficient juggler, multi-instrumentalist, Spanish conversationalist (for those with patience), ping-pong amateur, and fledgling pool shark.

// Matthew Miller holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Wichita State University and has studied Art and Architecture at Richmond University in London, and across Europe (other people take vacations). A voracious reader, compulsive list-maker, and generally organized chap, he appreciates a well designed typeface, mid-century modern design, and has been known on occasion to make a book or two by hand. If you invite him over for a dinner party, please be prepared to provide a fine dark beer or ale, paired with Asian inspired vegetarian cuisine, and a competitive game of trivial pursuit.

// Andrew Stephens is a graphic designer by day, freelancer and painter by night. A lifelong Wichitan, he holds a BFA in graphic design from Wichita State University. He spends much of his free time seeking out new music, taking on too many projects, and making an occasional grilled pizza.
