FRACT/ONS Review
The Chime Owl's Ep, The Reflecting Draw, is a distinct take on a traditional rock band setup. The group sports the usual guitars, bass, keys, and drums, and often relies on the standard verse/chorus structures. But the Chime Owls have made their mark in their distinctive twists and turns between major and minor, climbing and steady melodies. They also connect their songs with the use of crescendos and well-planned transitions and accent them with tasteful, catchy guitar melodies.
The most striking component of the recording is its distinct dryness. The guitar and piano riffs that drive the songs are distinct tonally. Take a listen and you'll notice that, unlike most albums coming out today, you can hear every note recorded-- from Vidricksen's SG guitar to the piano to even the drums. Take this and apply Vidricksen's naturally dry vocals and you've got a group with a unique sound.

"We are one foot in front of other. We are five, four, three, two and one. We are husband and wife. We are mother and father. We are brother, sister, son, daughter, friend and lover. We are filterless. We are Gregor Samsa. We are Quentin Compson. We are fiction. We are changing." - Chime Owls
